Founded by the virtuoso Reynaldo Flores in Montemorelos, Nuevo León, Grupo Toppaz is the foremost exponent of the romantic-tropical style driven by keyboards. Their "pegassero" sound and distinctive interpretation of romantic cumbia created their own musical school in the 1980s and 1990s, achieving hits that crossed Mexico’s borders to become classics throughout Latin America.
